Not much new going on here.  Claire's growing and getting to be quite the crazy woman with her jumping.  At the moment she is quite cranky.  oh well.  I bought a few cloth diapers today to try with her, so we'll see how that goes.  We bought a new dining room table and six chairs, so we're eagerly waiting for them to come in (6 weeks...too long!)
We're all getting ready for spring to be here.  I have quite a few projects I'd like to do outside, and it will be nice for Claire to get outside once the weather warms up a bit.  Luke is thinking about the garden and getting ready for planting season:).  Mom and Dad Baker are coming up this Friday and we're all getting excited for that.

It's been forever...sorry about that.  We've been staying busy with friends and family and Claire keeps growing.  She can sit up all by herself now for extended periods of time, although she has tipped a couple of times when I'm not right next to her...she's not a fan.  She's been a crazy woman with her baby food and just gobbles it down.  She's super loud when she eats too.  We started giving her Cheerios to play with and eat when we're eating dinner.  Most of them end up in the highchair and pocket of her bib, but a couple get in her mouth.  It's pretty fun to watch her figure things out.  We've also been giving her a sippy cup with a bit of water in it.  She can get the water out but it surprises her every time which causes the water to stream down her chin and neck.  Quite funny to watch.  Our next goal is to get her to sleep without swaddling her.  No medical reasons, I'm just annoyed with having to do it all time.
I've been staying very busy just taking care of Claire and keeping up with the house.  I did find some time to make some wall decor for the upstairs bathroom.  I used scrapbook paper, paint, squares of styrofoam, and modpodge.  They look ok and I'm glad there's something on the wall to add some color, although they didn't turn out exactly like the photo I was trying to copy.  Oh well.  My next project is making silhouettes of Claire, Luke, and me.  I want to hang them in the front entry way.  I also want to get some photos printed of Claire and our family of 3 to hang in the living room.  We currently don't have anything on the walls.  I made a big B to hang somewhere too, I'm just not sure where.
Luke's been busy working (obviously) and enjoying the (almost) daily hot chocolate that Claire and I bring up to him.  He's been doing quite a bit of reading lately too which is nice since it's so chilly outside.
We're also searching for a new dining room table...it's way harder than I thought  it would be!  We've found a few that we like, but we want one that we don't have to be afraid to use, ya know?  We like the look of an all wood table, but don't want to have to use a tablecloth or placemats all the time to protect the tabletop.  We'll keep looking.  Hope everyone else is doing well and staying warm!  We'll try to post some more photos on smugmug soon.

For those who are interested:
Claire went for her 6 month appt today at the doctor's.  She is 10th percentile for weight (12 lbs 13 oz) and 75th percentile for length (25.5 inches).  Both percentiles are on the 5 month chart (adjusted age).  She had to get 4 shots which she did NOT appreciate, but she is healthy and growing....yay!  Hopefully she sleeps well tonight :)

Whew!  This past week we were enjoying the wonderful weather in Florida with Luke's family.  It was mid to upper 70s the whole time and we had a great time playing outside and enjoying each others' company.  Claire even went swimming 3 times!  We also went to the zoo, and I went to a Children's Theater production of Beauty and the Beast along with Mom, Dad, Janna, and Ethan.  Claire did an awesome job with all of our flights....we couldn't have asked for a more cooperative little trooper!  The trip to FL went very smoothly, but the trip home was not so nice.  We flew from Miami to Memphis where we sat forever!  We were supposed to be back in GR a little after 9 pm but we ended up getting back to our house at 4 am....ugh!  Claire still did really well, but Luke and I were exhausted.  My "favorite" part was when the plane we were going to take finally got to Memphis and they were loading our luggage on and for some reason they decided to switch gates.  This meant we had to hike to a whole different section of the airport and then sit there and wait.  How annoying.  Anyway, we eventually got home and we're enjoying Christmas here!  On Wed night we celebrated with my parents and sister at our house.  It was really nice.  On Thur we went to church and spent most of the day at G and G Baker's.  Then we headed to my parents' house for just a bit.  My sister and cousin got the chance to feed Claire some green beans.  It was pretty funny.  Tonight we get to see Sam and Christina and tomorrow we have the Dykema party.  BUSY!  Hope everyone else is having an enjoyable Christmas season too:)
